PRO TECT LIQUID MASK

FACT SHEET

PRO TECT LIQUID MASK: a temporary durable coating which protects your tubs, shower basins and other highly finished surfaces such as porcelain, enamel, fiberglass, acrylic, metals, and glass.  It is a water based compound which applies as a liquid and hardens to the consistency of a “latex coating” as it dries.  Drying time depends upon  the thickness of the application, location and weather conditions.  PRO TECT LIQUID MASK helps prevent tubs, shower basins, and other surfaces from getting scratched, or damaged during construction, remodeling, or other activities where a surface may be damaged.

PRO TECT LIQUID MASK can be applied and left in place for as long as twelve months with no adverse affects on the finished coat’s surface integrity.  It will retain its installed properties when submerged, as in a plumbing fixture wet test, for up to 48 hours.  However, there will be a discoloration until the protective coating dries.

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR APPLICATIONS AND USE

1.  Before applying this product the surface should be free from dust, abrasive materials, oil, moisture, and any other substance that may damage the surface.
2.  Do not apply this product when surface or ambient temperature is below 40 degrees F.  Keep this product from freezing.  Materials that are frozen will separate and can not be reconstituted.

BRUSH APPLICATION
3.  When applying PRO TECT LIQUID MASK with a brush, it is important that you reach a uniform thickness.  If first coating is not to desired thickness then apply a second coating.  For best results when applying a second coating wait until the first coat is dry.  A third coating may be required to get the proper build-up for protection and ease of removal.

SPRAY APPLICATIONS

4.  A spray application is the most recommended form for applying PRO TECT LIQUID MASK.  By using an airless sprayer, such as painters commonly use on the job site, the recommended coating thickness may be attained in a single application.  A Wagner Model 425 Airless Sprayer or equal is suggested for use on multiple installations.

5.  Whether brushing or spraying PRO TECT LIQUID MASK,  the desired thickness is 6 to 7 mils. for optimum protection and removal.

6.  When it is time to remove PRO TECT LIQUID MASK from the application simply loosen at one end and peel off like a glove.  It will come off in strips without leaving any residue or remnants when the application is installed at 6 - 7 mils.

7.  Remember to cover all mechanical fittings, working components, drain covers, faucets and other working parts with a vinyl tape or similar product before starting application of PRO TECT LIQUID MASK.

PRO TECT LIQUID MASK is always to be applied in a ventilated area.  Avoid constant exposure to skin surfaces.  Keep out of the reach of children.
