5 tips for better carpet protection surface protection
1. Test your carpet to determine suitability. Apply a sample in a remote location for testing.
2. Do not install self-adhering poly-films over damp or wet carpet. Adhesive will transfer.
3. Do not traffic on carpet protection film without certifying it is firmly adhering to the carpet and is wrinkle free. Carpet protection film should be checked frequently to be certain installation conditions have not changed.
4. Excessive traffic and exposure to sunlight or intense heat will shorten the useable life of carpet protection film. Such conditions may cause adhesive transfer.
5. Do not allow carpet protection film to lap onto adjacent smooth flooring surfaces, the adhesive will transfer. -
Tub Surface Protection During Construction
Tub and Bath Liquid Mask can be applied and left in place for as long as twelve months with no adverse affects on the finished coat’s surface integrity. It will retain its installed properties when submerged, as in a plumbing fixture wet test, for up to 48 hours. However, there will be a discoloration until the protective coating dries.
1. Before applying this product the surface should be free from dust, abrasive materials, oil, moisture, and any other substance that may damage the surface.
2. Do not apply this product when surface or ambient temperature is below 40 degrees F. Keep this product from freezing. Materials that are frozen will separate and can not be reconstituted. -
Fast, Agile Floor Protection
80 mil thick and with a non-porous backing, floor runner is a quick and flexible way of protecting hardwood and finished floors during construction. The non-slip backing clings to the floor surface when weighted and then releases when the weight is removed. When not weighted the runner is light and stays in place without using adhesives or tapes.
Remember that new floor finishes need to “cure” before applying surface protection and are not considered “cured” when dry to the touch. Consult floor finish manufacturer's specs. Additionally, floor runner is slip-resistant on a clean smooth floor. If dust or other fine particles accumulate under the Runner it will lose its slip resistant properties. Cleaning the backing under surface of the runner can restore its slip-resistance property.
